Permanent cosmetic makeup is a tattooing technique whereby makeup is made permanent by applying pigment to the top layers of the dermis by the use of traditional and modern tattooing techniques. While permanent cosmetics are commonly used to hide many skin defects including burns and scars, they are also used as a means of applying makeup permanently. The most common procedures done are eyeliner, eyebrows, lip liner, and full lip color. Some technicians offer eye shadow and cheek blush as well.

There are many reasons why people should want their makeup to be permanent, not the least of which is to save time. Working women and female athletes are quite happy to have their makeup tattooed permanently into their skin. They no longer have to worry about smudged lipstick or the effects of bad weather on their face because nothing can smudge and nothing can run. They will always look their best, even first thing in the morning.

It also saves them a lot of time. The amount of time women have to spend getting their makeup ‘just so’ is time lost to many of them, and permanent makeup is ideal for them. Should they need a change now and again, then they can use regular makeup as the exception rather than as the rule.

Others who would appreciate permanent cosmetics are the elderly. There are many reasons for this, though medical reasons are more common than vanity or expediency in their case. Many older women are unable to apply cosmetics as they once could due to a number of conditions. The trembling of palsy or Parkinson’s disease render many unable to apply lipstick or eye makeup without smearing it, and many find it difficult to hold cosmetics due to arthritis and multiple sclerosis. There are other conditions that make it very difficult for them to look after themselves in this way, such as poor vision and the inability to see to put their makeup on.

For the elderly such as these, permanent makeup would be a blessing. They would no longer have to struggle to put on their brows before being able to go out in the morning, and would also feel the confidence of knowing that they will always look their best. They would no longer feel housebound due to an inability to make themselves look good.

Another group that welcomes a degree of permanence in their makeup are sportsmen and women, who want to compete but also look good. Why should they have to make a choice? Why not look good as they triumphantly climb out of the pool? The term ‘degree of permanence’ was used advisedly, since no tattoo is truly permanent. There is a gradual fading and the cosmetics have to be maintained at the required level, especially if their purpose is to hide a defect such as a scar.

There is a wide range of the type of cosmetic work available, including eyebrow definition using natural looking hair strokes to simulate hair, or a soft “penciled in” look if the client so desires. For a more natural look to the eyes, lash enhancement can make the lashes look fuller without an “eyeliner” look. Lip color and lip liner can be done to define the client’s natural lip line that may have faded through the years due to aging or smoking. Topical anesthetics are used in most cases to keep the client comfortable during the procedure, which should last about an hour on average.

There are many other reasons why people choose permanent makeup. No one is born perfect, and some people might want makeup artistry done to give a “wide open” look to the eyes, or brows reshaped to give a youthful appearance. Permanent makeup is an alternative to cosmetic surgery in some simple cases, and a lot less painful with fewer potential complications. However, like surgery, there is a healing time of about a week, during which the colors soften and heal with a natural appearance.

If you are interested in permanent cosmetics, make sure to interview your artist. Ask to see “healed” photos of their work, and make sure they are licensed as required by the local authorities. If in doubt, ask for references from former clients. Those who are members of professional organizations such as The Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals, and the American Academy of Micropigmentation, usually take their art very seriously. Remember, this is a form of tattooing, and the work will be there for a very long time. Now is not the time to go “price shopping” for the best deal.

In the end, permanent cosmetics can give you a sense of freedom and confidence knowing that the next storm is not going to affect your eyeliner or lipstick, because you neither have nor need them!

The face is the first physical asset that people will notice in every person. So, keeping the facial skin clean and clear of any blemish is of very important.

To start with, the best facial skincare product is water. Water acts as a detoxifying and nourishing agent for your skin. And if you have at least eight liters of water a day, your skin will automatically start to glow and will have a healthy feel to it. In addition to drinking enough water to maintain healthy skin, you can also use proper skincare products.

There are a variety of skincare products available in the market today, including exfoliating cream, moisturizers, facial hair removal cream, and the like. There are many companies that manufacture these products, and it can sometimes be difficult to choose the right product. To help yourself know which product is right for you, you will need to get a skin patch test done from a good skin clinic or a dermatologist. This way, you will know which product suits your skin and whether you are allergic to any certain type of product.

Once you have had a skin patch test, you will know which product suits you the best. You can also ask your dermatologist to suggest a particular brand of facial skincare products. Sometimes, even grossly expensive brands might not suit your skin type. So be very sure of what you apply on your face.

The choice of facial skincare products is abundant, but the secret to having beautiful skin is to use only a few products rather than ten products on your face in one sitting. The best combination of facial skincare products is as follows: a facial wash with a deep-pore cleaner, moisturizer, and a skin toner or sunscreen. Other facial skincare products such as wrinkle-lifting cream need proper dermatological consultation before being used.

First what are you trying to achieve with makeup?

Do you want to look naturally radiant? Like yourself, only better looking? Or do you want Halloween style makeup where makeup is painted on like a mask to hide your features?

If it is the former, the naturally pretty look you are after, well, this article is for you.

    1. Moisturizer
Apply your daily moisturizer and let your skin soak it up. Go for one with SPF15 to give you the protection you need from the aging UV rays of the sun. Spread a tissue paper over your face to blot off the excess.

    2. Concealer.
Do you really need a concealer? If your dark rings are really bad, a yellow toned concealer several shades lighter than your skin tone can lighten it a little. Just apply a little, blend it very well into your skin.

    3. Foundation.
Pick a liquid foundation that suits your skin type. Clinique perfectly real foundation gives you a very natural, no makeup look while Clarins True Radiance Foundation had gold pigments that makes your skin seem to light up from within.

You can use a makeup sponge, a brush or your fingers to apply your foundation.

For the heaviest coverage, use your fingers. Dot foundation on forehead, nose, cheeks and chin and spread the foundation evenly with your fingers all over your face. Blend in the foundation as thoroughly as you can to avoid that streaky finish.

For more transparent coverage, use a makeup sponge. Soak the sponge in water and squeeze out all the excess water completely. When the sponge is damp but not wet (you can’t wring out a single drop of water from it anymore) dot the foundation on the sponge. Squeeze it. Then paint your face with that sponge. Blend thoroughly into your skin for a natural and not freaky finish.

For the lightest coverage possible, for that no-makeup look that still leaves your skin gorgeous, put a little foundation on the back of your hand and pick it up with a brush. Paint that makeup onto your skin with the brush from the center of your face outwards. Blend thoroughly with the clean side of the brush.

Once your foundation is perfect, a touch of mascara on your lashes to open up the eyes and a slick of lip gloss on your lips for that kissable pout would complete your look.

Clarins True Radiance Foundation for a radiant glow or Clinique perfectly real makeup for a no-makeup perfectly made up look.
